Home Stretch

By this time on Saturday I should be living in my new place. Can't wait can't wait.
By this time next week I will practically be done school. Can't wait can't wait.
This weekend is full of music and old friends. Can't wait can't wait.

The black cloud has lifted and there is once again joy in the world.

Once while waiting for a bus. My friend Paul Nis from India came up to me after eating ice cream on the corner of some street with a DQ. I pondered the thought of the time, and place and wondered why Paul and I never invested in a car. After all, we do travel the same route, and though he gets off two stops ahead of me, we often do enjoy our conversations of the coming and goings round Halifax. It was not surprise this day that the bus was more than crowded and though I left work later there were more people than usual and rather than imagining that everyone else was also working late, I thought it more likely that they all went for a beer at My GrandFathers Mustache, and this was the time that the others were heading home. We did manage seat, mostly out of luck, rather than assertiveness, and sat down for a little conversation. It was only a few minutes that the numerous people warmed the space, and Paul, commenting on the heat, took off his Jacket. Again thinking of my greater plan of asking Paul if he has any job security, and if he too would consider my proposal in acquiring a more luxurious mode of transportation, something with air conditioning, and better music that the ramblings of those in frond of us, behind us, and above us. As we talked about our future career goals, I notices that Paul forgot to take off his work tag, and there before me was a pal labeled as P. Nis. It was only a few seconds that I quickly changed my mind and thought. "Who the F%$# wants to be stuck in a car with a P.Nis every day after work. The following weeks I found myself working a few minutes later to avoid meeting Paul on the bus. Who is to say what is really in a name. But strangely enough... I was uncomfortable....
